Wayne Phillips (Commercial Director)

Wayne has a Bachelor of Commerce degree, is a Chartered Marketer and member of European Marketing Council, desertChartered Institute of Marketers (UK) and the Institute of Directors.
Wayne specialises in sustainable growth strategies with particular focus on the triple bottom line. He is an experienced facilitator and has worked with companies like De Beers, Transnet, Engen Oil, Coca Cola, Epson Printers, and the BMG Group (formerly Bearingman) where his involvement was key to unlocking the potential in large teams, particularly those with a technical and operational focus. He has presented many marketing papers and is recognized as one of South Africa’s top marketing brains, both in practice and academically.
He has served on boards of numerous private companies in both an executive and non-executive capacity and acted as an advisor to boards and board members. He is particularly strong on Corporate Governance and the King reports on corporate governance.
More recently he headed up the interim marketing structure for the Second Telecommunications Network Operator that launched as Neotel and furthermore was integral to the strategy, resourcing and processes within the joint initial launch effort between Transnet and Eskom in 2002. He was also part of a team that devised content and facilitated workshops for the De Beers group of companies on topics such as Leadership Development, Culture, Change Management, Transformational Leadership, Personal Mastery and Coaching. Wayne’s contribution towards positioning AATec in the market is invaluable and he assists in all commercial aspects of the business.
